Today, as we continue Mental Health Week (May 4–10), we’re reminded that supportive relationships with family and loved ones can help build resilience, foster understanding, and promote well‑being. Whether it’s spending time together, listening without judgment, or simply being present, these moments of connection matter. Together, we are building stronger connections — and better mental health.

We recognize that incidents like this can affect many people across the community, including family members, friends, neighbours, first responders, youth, and others who may be struggling emotionally after hearing the news. Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health is available to provide support to community members who may need someone to talk to. Community members can: • Visit us in person at 25 Front Avenue in Brockville and request a Brief Services appointment • Call 613-342-2262 to request a phone appointment Our team of mental health professionals is available to help support individuals during this difficult time. In addition to the supports being offered through our agency, the following resources are also available for anyone impacted by this tragedy: • Victim Services of Leeds & Grenville: 613-341-7700 • 988 Suicide Crisis Helpline (Call or Text 988, available 24/7) • Distress Centre of Lanark, Leeds & Grenville: 1-800-465-4442 Please reach out if you or someone you know needs support. Please remember to take care of yourselves and one another, and to check in on friends, family members, and youth who may be impacted.
